Too shady of a garden this year
It seems as if my trees have been growing too well this year so I have plenty of foliage on my veggie plants but they are struggling to produce. I will take what I can get, I love my curby cucumbers, and frequent the farmer's market. Am I disappointed? Heck yes. I'm hoping this weekend, my favorite tree may get a trim and perhaps, my garden will make a miraculous recovery. After all, nature does some seemingly impossible beautiful things. Why not a garden bounce back?

Hostas and Deer
So I got around to one of my front beds and I planted these beautiful hosta plants that my father gave me. As my husband and I are coming home from an outing, I see a deer on my lawn (normal occurrence) but then I look at the garden I was just so proud of....
Apparently the deer thought it was salad :(. I had assumed this was the case with the hostas on the stoop but I am getting a big frustrated when I see flowers bitten off at the stem and all leaves gone from a plant that is about its leaves.
R.I.P. host a leaves....
Vinegar as Weed Killer
Well, it looks like it works but it also looks like I didn't drench them enough. So conclusion is? Instead of spraying, I think I might just take the gallon outside and pour over the bed of weeds. I'd use the sprayer when trying to get one and not another, but that is not the case here.
Cucumbers
I was in love with the curbies last year so, of course, I planted them again. Plus, I've been told my pickles were awesome. I ate some the other day and I happen to agree!
